A Message from the Founder.

A Message from the Founder.

I wanted to give you all an update on myself and the brand. My name is Evan — I founded the Adapt brand almost 13 years ago, and design and handle much of the everyday operations to this day. I have met hundreds of you in person at our stores and events, and thousands of you I know by name via your online orders, emails, and social media. I consider all of you integral to what has made Adapt what it is today, and for allowing me and our team to do what we do year in and year out.

You may have noticed a slight slow-down in product releases and general brand activity in 2016, and there is a reason for that. 2015 ended pretty typically: we had a good holiday season, had plans to relocate our Serramonte location, and were preparing for the new year as we would any other. I don't often get sick but developed flu-like symptoms near the end of December, continuing into January until I realized that it had to be more than the seasonal flu. A visit to the doctor revealed that I had developed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (A.L.L.), which is a type of aggressive blood cancer. As far as doctors know, it has no rhyme or reason for developing — it is simply a cell mutation, much more common in young children and the elderly. I was immediately hospitalized for the next month, and without getting into too many additional specifics, I have been working towards recovery ever since.

2016 has been a trial and a journey for me. I felt the need to put out some products that reflected some of that journey, and ultimately, something positive from what is on the surface a negative situation. Today we released 2 new designs under our charitable Adap+ umbrella, All Blooded and Research & Destroy. As with our other Adap+ releases, 100% of the Net Proceeds will go towards charitable causes. These particular tees will support two different organizations — The American Cancer Society, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, both of which I feel have strong missions and will be good stewards of our contributions. Cancer is something that has touched many of us, whether it be a friend or a relative. For some of you this may hit closer to home than that. I hope these tees have some meaning for you personally, and that advancing research for cure and supporting affected families can be causes that you care about.

I wanted to share these personal events with you as I consider myself very close to the Adapt brand. You as Adapt customers are very close to me, whether you realize it or not. The impact of these events on myself has been tremendous and it will certainly inform what I do and how I live my life moving forward. Expect the same and better from Adapt in the future, with a new purpose and new resolve. We will continue to put out the best product with the best service that we can, day in and day out. Thanks for supporting us throughout the years and I hope to see you soon.

PEACE

Evan

Do it for the Kids.

If you have been following the website / newsletters lately, you may have noticed that we have been adding lots of Tykes and Baby products as of late. We get many requests for these items, and we have doubled down and will be bringing you even more in the days / weeks / months to come. If there are particular products you would like us to stock, don't hesitate to ask. As with most things, we do this for you, and without you guys we would not be able to do what we do.
